These days, Dr. Michael Civin works as a clinical psychologist, where continues add to his nearly 30 years’ experience as a doctor. He is a senior psychologist at Rose Hill Psychological Services in the Bronx, New York City, a firm he co-founded in 2008. While he primarily works from Rose Hill, he also has operated in private practice in other parts of New York City, including Manhattan, Astoria, and Bayville, since 2007.
This private practice features Michael Civin, Ph.D. working in the field of psychodiagnostics, which is a branch of psychology that evaluates personality and human behavior through testing. He also works in the fields of adult and adolescent psychology and he practices supervision and group psychology, as well.
Though he has been practicing medicine for decades, Dr. Michael A Civin had to have an education to get there in the first place. He started his education by earning an A.B. degree with cum laude honors from Harvard in 1968. He followed that by attending the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1968 and 1969 and he earned his first Masters of Arts degree in 1970 from the University of Oregon. Michael A. Civin earned another Masters of Arts degree, this time in Clinical Psychology, from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. He became Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. in 1988 when he earned his medical degree from the same institution. In 1993, Adelphi also awarded him a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. The fact is, Dr. Michael A. Civin has never stopped pursuing an education in psychology. He has spent a lot of time in the academic world, in addition to private practice.
