The Educational Journey of Michael A. Civin, Ph.D.
Though he can now boast of a prestigious career as a clinical psychologist that has now stretched to almost 30 years, Dr. Michael A Civin, Ph.D continues to learn as much as he can, in order to become even better in his profession. Dr. Civin realized when he was very young that education was the key to everything. It was the key to getting what he wanted, of course, but is was also key to making sure his patients received the care they deserved.
Michael A. Civin’s education is actually very strong, beginning with his A.B. Degree, which he earned cum laude from Harvard way back in 1968. He followed that by going to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1968-69. He wasn’t finished, though, since he earned two Master’s Degrees, including an M.A. from the University of Oregon in 1970 and another, this time in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University’s Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. He officially earned the right to call himself Dr. Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. when he earned his doctorate in 1986 and his Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in 1993, both from Adelphi. In between, he earned a medical degree from the Pennsylvania Institute of Straight Chiropractic in 1988.
